A Nightmare on Elm Street is a 2010 horror slasher film. It is a remake of the 1984 movie A Nightmare on Elm Street. It was directed by Samuel Bayer, and written by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer. It stars Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger, Rooney Mara as Nacy Holbrook, and Kyle Gallner as Quentin Smith. Notably, it is the only movie in the franchise where Freddy Krueger is not played by Robert Englund.

The movie was a box office success. It was made on a budget of $35,000,000 and earned more than $117,000,000.

There has been no sequel to this movie yet. A remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge is currently in development hell.


A re-imagining of the horror icon Freddy Krueger, a serial-killer who wields a glove with four blades embedded in the fingers and kills people in their dreams, resulting in their real death in reality.
