Dorky Lantern sprite in Final Fantasy VII.
Dorky Faces are enemies that appear in the video games Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. They are monsters who appear inside Shinra Manor.
Game appearances[]
Dorky Faces first appear in the 1997 video game Final Fantasy VII. Cloud Strife and his party encounter them inside the Shinra manor located in the town of Nibelheim (Cloud and Tifa's hometown). When encountered, Dorky Faces will use a move called Funny Breath, which will create purple mist around one of the three active party members. Once it does so, the character will be affected by the status effect Confusion. Dorky Faces can be defeated by regular attacks and confusion can be cured by either a tranquilizer or the White Wind enemy skill if players obtained it via the Enemy Skill Materia.
Dorky Faces appear in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. They appear once again in the Shinra Manor. Since Zack Fair is on his own in this title, the attack Funny Breath will only affect the DMW. In Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis Dorky Faces appear as minions of the Dark Army Leader in the seasonal event Pumpkin Fest: Where Darkness Gathers. Mechanical versions of Dorky Faces known as a Rictus appear in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth during the section where players control Cait Sith in the Shinra Manor.
Appearance[]
The design of a Dorky Face relates to Halloween. Their faces are jack-o-lantern's, with some designs having the pumpkin lit. A Dorky Face's body resembles a teru teru bōzu, which is a Japanese doll that resembles a ghost.
