A Witch's Tangled Hare is a color Looney Tunes cartoon starring the famous rabbit character Bugs Bunny. It was released to theaters on October 31. 1959.
Clips from A Witch's Tangled Hare are used in the 1978 animated TV special Bugs Bunny's Howl-oween Special.
The cartoon opens with a playwright, who looks similar to William Shakespeare, trying to write a play and coming across a castle with a mailbox that has the word "Macbeth" on it. He then begins to write a story based on the title. The loud screeching laughter of Witch Hazel is soon heard, and she is seen stirring her cauldron. It turns out that the witch has trapped Bugs Bunny and has him sleeping on a platter. Bugs soon wakes up and climbs in the cauldron, thinking it to be a bath. Once he realizes his mistake by reading Hazel's cook book, he jumps out and runs for his life.
