Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare is a 1991 horror slasher film. It is a sequel to the 1989 movie A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, and is the final movie in the original series. It was written and directed by Rachel Talalay and Wes Craven. It stars Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger, Lisa Zane as Maggie Burroughs, and Shon Greenblatt as John Doe. The movie is mainly about Freddy Krueger returning once again to haunt children in their dreams, but this time, he loses.
The movie was a moderate box office success. It was made on a budget of $11,000,000 and earned more than $34,000,000. The film was rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America for horror, violence, references to drugs and bad language.
A sequel, Wes Craven's New Nightmare was released in 1999.
