Mumbies sprite in Kirby Planet Robobot.
Mumbies are a common mob enemy in the Kirby video game series created by Hal Laboratory and Nintendo. They specifically appear in the video games Kirby's Dream Land, Kirby's Dream Land 2, Kirby's Dream Land 3, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Kirby Planet Robobot and Kirby and the Forgotten Land (As well as the games Nintendo Switch 2 edition).
Appearance[]
Mumbies are enemies based on mummies. They are round creatures wrapped in bandages. In the center of their faces, their single eye is exposed, which is yellow in the earlier titles. Starting in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards Mumbies eyes will turn red when chasing Kirby, while in more recent titles, Mumbies eyes are always red. A metal variant of Mumbies known as a Degout appears in Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
Abilities[]
When Kirby encounters Mumbies during levels, they float in midair and stay in place when Kirby is facing them. When Kirby is facing opposite of them, the Mumbies will then start to chase Kirby. Mumbies can't be inhaled by Kirby, due to this, Kirby must use whatever copy ability he has to defeat them or simply puffing at Mumbies will defeat them as well.
