Nightfall, short for Nightfall at Old Tucson, and originally called Ghost Town Nights, is a Halloween event that has been in operation since 1989 in the Old Tucson Studios movie studio and theme park in Tucson, Arizona. Much like Town of Terror, Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, and Knott's Scary Farm, Nightfall is a Halloween event intended for an older audience due to the haunted houses and other horror themed events. However, children under the age of 12 years old who were in the park had a haunted house and events that were suited for them.
Events and festivities[]
There have been multiple events and festivities that have occurred at Nightfall, including live shows and haunted houses for the older audience. As for any child under 12 that was in the park during the event, they had a haunted house made just for them that was pirate themed along with trick or treating. Other events over the years included a zombie shooting gallery, a virtual reality ride, and many others. Most of the events featured an ever expanding story centered around a character known as Dr. Jebediah Hyde, a mad doctor who tortures the inmates of the local asylum, the Asylum of Goulliard, in the town of Nightfall. Only a select few events feature the death of the mad doctor, only for him to revealed that he either survived or was resurrected.
Trivia[]
- The event and the park would be closed down temporarily for two years following a devastating fire in April 1995, but the Nightfall event returned in 1997 and continued the story of Dr. Jebediah Hyde.
