Plot[]

After solving their latest mystery, Mystery Inc. encounter famous horror author Ben Ravencroft (voiced by Tim Curry), which Velma is a huge fan of. He invites them to an Autumn Festival in his hometown of Oakhaven, Massachusetts. When they arrive, Ben is surprised to see the town so packed with tourists, but the mayor informs them that this is because a Goth-metal band known as The Hex Girls are performing at this year's festival, the band is also from Oakhaven. Ben is a descendant of a woman named Sarah Ravencroft, who was accused of witchcraft. Ben seems to get upset when people still believe her to be a witch, and wants to prove that Sarah was a wiccan, who used herbal remedies to heal people. Ben believes she was buried near an oak tree and wants to find her journal to prove her innocence. Scooby begins digging after chasing a gopher but finds nothing but a buckle.

While exploring the town, Shaggy and Scooby eat out at a diner, where they eat everything on the menu. After they're done, the two are chased away by a witch that uses fire magic. The witch is gone by the time the two find Fred, Daphne, Velma, and Ben. While searching around for clues, they wander in the forest, where the Hex Girls are rehearsing one of their songs for the concert. The three girls introduce themselves as Thorn, Luna, and Dusk to Scooby and the gang, where they complement the girl's performance. After they leave, Fred and Daphne follow the Hex girls after being a little suspicious. there, they see Thorn seemingly making witch's brew.

Mystery Inc. later sees the witch and set a trap for the monster. The trap works, and they unmask the witch, revealing the witch to be a pharmacists named Mr. McKnight, who is Thorn's father, also revealing that Thorns real name is Sally. He ensures them that she had nothing to do with this, and that this whole thing was a publicity stunt. What Thorn was really doing at her house was making peppermint tea in order to sooth her throat. Later that night, Ben tells Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, Scooby and the Hex Girls more about Sarah. While the girls admit they're not really witches, Thorn does have wiccan blood due to her mother being a wiccan. The gang notices that in the painting of Sarah, her journal has the same buckle Scooby found. After they dig up the spot near the stump of an Oaktree, they find a chest containing Sarah's journal, which is actually a spell book. Ben reveals to the gang that Sarah was indeed an evil witch and he himself is a warlock. He uses the spell book to unleash Sarah's ghost so the two can rule together.

After Sarah is freed, she has no intentions to work with Ben, instead Sarah wants to destroy everything to get revenge on all mankind. Angered, Ben attempts to send her back, but Sarah laughs and informs him that only a wiccan can send her back, and traps Ben in a green forcefield. Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby attempt to get the spell book back, but Sarah uses her magic to turn pumpkins into jack-o-lantern monsters to stop them, as well as making trees come to life in order to grab the gang and turns a turkey into a monster to chase after Shaggy and Scooby. Velma manages to get the spell book and tells Thorn to read from it since Thorn has wiccan blood. It works, and the monsters are destroyed, and Sarah is sent back into the book. Not wanting to go back to her prison alone, Sarah grabs Bens ankle, causing Ben to get trapped in the book with Sarah as he screams in terror. A tree branch caught on fire lands on the book destroying it for good.

Now that the ghost of Sarah Ravencroft and Ben are gone, the people of Oakhaven enjoy the Autumn Festival, where the Hex Girls perform a new song about being a wiccan rather than a witch called Earth, Wind, Fire and Air. Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo perform the song with the Hex Girls, with Fred, Shaggy and Scooby dressed in vampire costumes, while Daphne and Velma wear witch costumes.
