Plot[]
After years of unmasking countless phonies, Mystery Inc. goes their separate ways out of boredom. Daphne starts a successful television series with Fred as her cameraman called Coast to Coast with Daphne Blake, Velma works at a bookstore, and Shaggy and Scooby work at an airport, where they smuggle food that passengers bring on flights, which gets the two fired. Sometime later, the gang reunite in order to find real ghosts and monsters. While in New Orleans, the gang are invited to go to a place called Moonscar Island by a woman named Lena Dupree for some investigating due to the high number of disappearances.
They take a ferry to Moonscar Island driven by a ferryman named Jacques. Lena warns Scooby that her employer Simone Lenior has pet cats. Scooby lies about being good with them, but when they arrive at Simone's plantation on Moonscar Island, Scooby begins chasing her cats, much to Simone's annoyance. Simone introduces herself to the gang and tells them that her house is haunted. Later while Daphne is filming, a chilling wind carves Get Out on the wall, and later Beware. Fred enhances the footage, where they capture the ghost of a pirate named Morgan Moonscar.
While having a picnic, Shaggy and Scooby are chased away by a pig named Mojo and fall into a dug-up hole. It is there where Shaggy and Scooby find Moonscar's skeletal body, which reanimates into a zombie. Shaggy and Scooby flee in terror. When they meet back with Fred, Daphne, and Velma, Velma begins to question Simone's gardener named Beau, after Shaggy and Scooby mention that they fell in a dug-up hole.
Simone and Lena tell Mystery Inc. that they may stay overnight and have dinner with them. The gang accepts their invitation, but Shaggy and Scooby eat outside in the Mystery machine, so Scooby won't disturb Simone's cats. The two start drinking water out of the swamp after eating a chili pepper but see a hoard of zombies reanimated from the water by a green mist. Later on, Fred, Daphne, Velma, and Beau look for Shaggy and Scooby after they'd been gone awhile, where Fred and Daphne discover that the zombies are real and run away from them. Scooby and Shaggy find dolls that resemble Fred, Daphne, and Velma and begin to play with them, causing the three to float in midair, making them voodoo dolls.
Fred, Daphne, Velma and Beau return to the plantation after hearing Lena's scream. When they arrive, Lena leads them to a ritual chamber, where it is revealed that Simone and Lena are werecats. They explain that they were settlers 200 years ago, and they became that way after wanting revenge on Morgan Moonscar after he killed many other settlers. They prayed to a cat god, who granted them immortality, and murdered Moonscar and his pirates. Ever since then, they drain the lives of people who come to the island every harvest moon, revealing that the zombies were not trying to eat them, but rather they were trying to warn them so they wouldn't suffer the same fate they did. Jacques is also a werecat, and he chases Scooby and Shaggy to the ritual chamber, where they distract Simone and Lena, while Velma makes voodoo dolls of Lena and Simone, this distracts Simone and Lena long enough to where they don't drain the gangs' souls in time, killing them, and finally having the zombies at last rest in peace.
The next morning, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Beau, Shaggy, and Scooby take the ferry back to New Orleans, leaving Moonscar Island. Scooby tries to enjoy a sandwich but can't since Simone's cats which now have glowing eyes are on the ferry as well.
